TrendMicro releases some free tools to
let you experience their trendy
security. Trend Micro
HijackThis 2.0.2 is one of
those free tools. This tool provides
security against potentially unwanted
hijacking attempts.
This
tool lists the contents of key areas of
the registry and hard drive areas that
are used by both legitimate programmers
and hijackers. Again, this tinny tool
even examines browser helper objects. As
this tool doesn’t target specific
programs and URLs, falls positive is a
must.
You
have to make sure whether the flagged
item is a threat or not! When Trend Micro
HijackThis flags items you should get
detail about that entry by pressing the
info button. This will show the detail
about the suspected item. Now if you
think that the entry is vulnerable you
can check it and press fix
button.
But
if you fail to understand what to do,
then save the report and later let
someone concerned to review. That person
can be your friend who has experience in
dealing these sorts of things. You can
also search info on those files using
internet. Again, there are many forums
like SpywareInfo or Computer Cops where
you can seek help.
This
program supports Internet Explorer and
FireFox and compatible with most of the
versions of windows. Remember that Trend
Micro HijackThis 2.0.2 comes with no
technical support. A slight help can be
got from the FAQ section of their
site.

I didn't give it five stars
because it's not exactly
perfect for everyone but it's
good enough for advanced
Windows users and for people
who understand computers and
running processes. I downloaded
this product since I'm an ok
Windows user trying to find out
my problems. I didn't have any
spyware, however this program
really helps you find out those
suspicious and unknown items
that are hiding somewhere
inside your computer. All you
do is check the ones you want
to remove and then delete it.
Simple, small, easy and hard to
use at the same time. On
computer tech sites, if you ask
for help, people would often
ask you to post your Hijack
log. I would say this product
is favored by many
people.

Any problem I've every
had with a computer or any forum
I've every read on PC issues always
starts and ends with a Hijack This
log! It has helped twice in the
past with issues in my pc and now
I've put it in my old, used laptop.
When I've finished doing all the
scanning and tweaking and old
program/app removals, I will be
running Hijack This and submitting
the log to my favorite tech forum
to make sure everything is
copacetic! A must have on every
computer, whether you're a geek nor
not! |

This is power! and
only if you know what is good
and what is not this is really
simple to use.. all it does is
gather values such of startup
programs, programs running,
homepage, and toolbars in IE,
with opens to remove them if
you got hijacked or a stupid
useless third party toolbar got
installed.. it also has a
rollback system so you can
rollback if you deleted
something that "you" wanted,
and comes with accessories such
as delete file on restart,
process explorer, this is
good.. i used it on my friends
computer also you can get your
hijackthis log
analyzed...

really very charming and
wonderful for all users who
interested in depth implement
for scan PC for Spy ware. I am
very impressed and glad with
this software and I am many
times using this
software.
