i was tipped off that it was dodgy
when it changed my google home page
icon (the icon in the address bar
of internet explorer) to the "Z"
icon assocciated with ZoneAlarm
instead of the normal G google
icon. I decided to uninstall it -
lucky i googled that before i did.
SO many people having trouble
uninstalling it! They weren't able
to connect to the net after
rebooting, |

ZoneAlarm is now
upgraded to ZoneAlarm 7.0.408.0. I
use Windows XP Home Edition with
SP2. As long as the Windows
Firewall is disabled you should use
ZoneAlarm without any problem.
Another thing to bear in mind is to
carry on updating the Windows
security files. At one stage with
an earlier version of ZoneAlarm it
did slow down the shutdown
procedure to such a state that I
had to close down the machine using
the Task Manager. I have been
downloading the Windows updates
manually of late; one of these
files may have cleared it. Theres
always going to be a hacker getting
round any sort of firewall
eventually, particularly

The best
firewall program increasingly, plus
other great skin tone! It not only
warns you of all inward and
outgoing internet movement, but it
will chunk the things you desire it
to. It is
magnificent! |

Wisely,
ZoneAlarm's makers haven't
changed the program's clean and
intuitive interface. Features
such as Firewall, Antivirus,
and Firewall Logs run down the
left side of the screen.
There's a column for advice
regarding each feature section,
then there's the main screen,
including layered tabs for
configuration options. Why
McAfee and Norton haven't
switched to a similar design is
beyond us. Gamers will
appreciate a new option which
quiets the pop-up messages from
ZoneAlarm Anti-Spyware 6.5
while you are in the midst of
playing a full-screen adventure
game.
